Remy Stroomer, album art work
In 2020 Dutch musician Remy Stroomer invited me to create artwork for his album The Other Side.
"On the other side of every story, everything we don’t know, and all those things we will never be able to imagine or understand."
The album was performed live at St. Bavo St. Bavokerk in Haarlem and this recording was released as a live album in 2023: The Other Side: Lost in Reality.
I created the artwork for both albums.
The Other Side: Lost in Reality was released in October 2023.
I merged the past with the present by interweaving the mirror of the original album cover with an archive image of the Grote or St. Bavokerk in Haarlem, the location of the live concert.
The past here is not just a historical element, but a living force that influences our current experiences. The church, which already existed in the 16th century, functions as a bridge between then and now, with time itself giving another dimension to how we perceive the world around us.
